Last January, I got to visit some friends in San Francisco and got to see the sights. My designated tour guide through my stay, D-chan, to my giddy excitement, pulls out a 35mm TLR (Twin Lens Reflex) film Camera. HOOO-LY CRAP~! I thought it was an actual Rollei or a Yashica. Turns out it was a builders kit that came with issue #25 of “Otona no kagaku magazine” (Science of Adult), published by Gakken. So it’s not as fancy as Lomo’s Lubitel 166 or those really fancy TLR’s yet it STILL IS a basic but fully functional 35mm film camera. When she told me it was a kit that came with a camera, I asked her to take me to where she got it. Mozied over to Kinokuniya in Japan town and picked one up. Of course I didn’t get to put it together while I was there. Continue reading
Here’s an old set of photos. Ever wondered what Dollfies do in their spare time? For my little vinyl girls, aside from being avid gamers, They also do a build plastic models or gunpla every now and then. Here’s some photos during their first attempt at putting together their own gunpla.
I hope they can read the manual.
The girls get their first look at what they're up against.
And so they're off.. I guess I'll see how they do in an hour or so.
Sooo.. I wonder what other fellow doll parents let their girls do other than pose for the camera.

GAAAAAOOOOOO~! At long last!! A reasonably priced and well detailed figure of the Big G!
Preorders just went up on Ami-ami!!
Thank you Bandai! I have been salivating for the king monsters ever since production models came out.
As is all SH Figuarts figures, the Big G is fully articulated right down to the tail. From initial photos of what I’ve seen, I’m guessing this would be slightly larger than similar Sci-fi action figures from Revoltech, have also started their own Godzilla line with the release of Angairus and Mothra earlier this year. Bandai shot ahead and just went in for the kill by releasing Godzilla and Mecha Godzilla. One thing I’m eager to see as a poseable action figure is King Ghidora.
But with Bandai usurping the release of this beauty, Kaiyodo may still just have one up on the former by putting a 1/80 scale Vinyl model of Godzilla. This however commands a wee bit more than the 3000+Jpy asking price of the SH Monster arts figures. I mean just look at the size of that thing!
So which of these incarnations of the King of Monsters tickles your bank accounts? Just click on the images to take you to their product pages.
Spotted this bit of news at Ngee Khiong. Yes you read it right. Bandai has gone and did it again and released the MG V-Dash Gundam Ver.Ka to nip at our bank accounts.
Good news for those who didn’t pick up the MG Victory Gundam Ver.Ka as they wouldn’t end up with 2 full mechs on their shelves. For those who did, well, at least you can have the option of displaying both the normal Victory and the V-Gundam Hexa.
Slated for a Late July release, it’ll be retailing at around 6000JPY or Php3000.
Now now, before you go on cussing about Bandai’s money milking scam, they’ve also announced that they’ll be releasing the MG Ver. Ka of the V-Gundam Core booster with the Dash weapons pack. So you’ll get another core booster, big deal, at 2310JPY or roughly PHP1600, it’s half of what you have to spend on the V-Dash box. Unless that’s what you wanted.
Pre -orders are already open at Ami-ami for both.
I’ll also take this opportunity to hawk some figure goods that I have.
