PREPARE TO BE DEFENESTRATED

Well now, this is a bit surreal. 11 days away from the end of the world and I decide to put up my blog in my own domain… Sweet jumping Jehoshaphat ~

Anywho, to my new readers and old…

By the power vested in me by almighty caffeine Gods!! …and the Galactic Empire.

I CLAIM THIS SPACE ON TEH INTERWEBS AND DECLARE IT A CAFFEINE INDUCED REFUGE OF TRAVESTY AND HOOLIGANISM.

And a place to share purdy purdy pictures of food, dollies, and figures… and the occasional bits and bobs of fiddly gadgetry.

YOU THERE!! PREPARE TO BE DEFENESTRATED!!

Camille Tries to Blog… For real this time.

Camille sharing how she got into blogging at the DLSU Blogger's Congress

For for folks who have been following Camille Co (@ItsCamilleCo) for a while now, are well aware that she has been more than successful in her “attempts” at blogging, as she so puts it, using the Tumblr platform. While for all intents and purposes, up to now, it does the job well. I for one have my own tumblr stream but I rarely even use it for a full post other than pushing this semi active blog of mine. Even with the innovations it has, Tumblr, as I’d like to put it is a super-sized Twitter.

Back to Camille Co’s blogging (mis)adventures, it’s been a year since she started off on her fashion escapades and now, I think it’s safe to say that she really now has her blog in a proper blogging platform. I’ve heard her name crop up in the blogosphere for sometime now and it wasn’t only until the 2nd Blogger’s Congress held in DLSU in October 2011, did I get to see this tall, fashionable miss that’s making waves in the fashion blog scene. Very humble and quite a fun story on how she got into blogging.  Interestingly enough, she’s started blogging with nary any know how. From what I recall, everything she knows in web publishing are self taught. Honestly, I find her efforts and successes very inspiring.  Sure she may come from a well off family, but you don’t establish branding as simply as that. She’s managed to put her own clothing line, Coexist, on the map as a particularly trendy line of clothing for young ladies through Multiply.com.  Goes to show that with ingenuity, a little know how, and a lot of elbow grease, one can achieve just about anything they desire.  Now, fashion circles habitually put her in high regard on their short lists.

And to commemorate her new blog’s launch, she’s giving away a buncha stuff so you’d might want to hop on over to itscamilleco.com for a chance to win some prizes!

So, more power to this fashionable and savvy entrepreneur. And a do be nice and drop her birthday tweet as well.

Doll news for July

Lovely aren't they! This July is certainly a doll-centric month for me.  As per my annual visit to the Fragrant Harbor, I figured I’d schedule this year’s visit to coincide with the annual doll exhibit, Dollism Plus, happening on the 17th July, 2011 at the Kowloon Bay International Trade and Exhibition Centre (九龍灣國際展貿中心).

During my last visit in November 2010, I got to spend an evening with the HK doll-folk. A fun bunch they are and very accommodating, also a very good reminder for me to brush up on my Mandarin.  T’was nice to be able to put a face to the ‘Tweetah’ names having been able to meet @Quentinlau and @Stepswalker.  Looking forward to this year’s Dollism, I’ll be meeting the rest of the HK doll community. I also understand that a large group of SG Doll folk as well as some from BKK will also be arriving.  This is going to be quite a big get together. Aside from Yasuko and Mikuru, thankfully, I won’t be alone in representing the budding doll community of the Philippines. Continue reading

deviantART on Entrepreneur Magazine

Well, well… deviantART has apparently made the cover of Entrepreneur Magazine.  Frankly, had it been ImagineFX or 3Dcreative, I would not have been all too surprised.  But considering how much it has become a brand, I’m not all too surprised either.

While I am happy and all for @deviantART being featured in Entrepreneur Magazine, i just hope it doesn’t make them just another Facebook or any other social networking site. It started out as a home for visual artists and I hope it stays that way for the years to come. Continue reading

Thigh High Thursday – 2010Nov11

Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.usIt’s Thursday(barely) again folks and you know what that means.

For this week’s helping, I thought I’d pay a little homage to my rebooted blogger page; “Atomic Espresso.  Since it’ll mostly house my plamos and gunpla related works, what else could be better at showcasing the marriage of Zettai ryouiki moe and mecha other than Mecha Musume.

Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.usMecha musume (メカ娘, meka musume?, mecha girl) are moe anthropomorphisms similar to the OS-tans. Mecha musume is the accepted term in the west, but the Japanese call them mecha shōjo (メカ少女, meka shōjo?, lit. mecha girl), although the term heiki musume (兵器娘, heiki musume?, weapon girl) is also infrequently used. Mecha Musume is the term used by the artist Humikane Shimada (島田フミカネ) for his copyrighted commercial and artistic designs.” – Wikipedia

Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.usMeanwhile, I found this nifty little feature on Imageshack which allows me to slap a buncha picks on wordpress in one fell swoop.  Pretty nifty since it allows me to host my pics off-site and also has a mass uploader. Nice. Ok then, I won’t keep your mince pies away from the goods any longer and let you enjoy the rest of the pics. Just clicky the pics to take you to teh better sized ones.  Enjoy~! Atomic Espresso

This was breakfast today.  Grilled ham and cheese, and a cup of oatmeal.  This is what I’m having for breakfast for the next couple of… months or until I’ve finished paying for DD Saber Lily from Dollpa 24.  With that out of the way, let’s move on to other news. Continue reading
